"My name will not get smeared anymore," writes Amber in a series of tweets about the MTV show.
The reality TV star tweeted out her dissatisfaction with the series on Monday night, just before the new episode aired.
"I can't do this anymore," she wrote. "I have to quit this show."
One of her fans commended her for how much she changed since the series began, telling her that she and "several other moms have outgrown this show." The fan added, "Look at your life now, you have so much more to give to this world. I’m super proud of you& how you’ve changed so much. We’re here for you, whatever your decision is. Sending love."
Portwood responded to the fan, giving a little more insight into her thought process.
"The heartache this show has put me through is too much to bear anymore," she wrote. "If I will not be shown then there's nothing more to do. My name will not get smeared anymore. I hope everyone is resting easy with the money they've made off of heartache and pain that I've endured."
The tweets came before an emotional episode where she revealed to Gary Shirley and his wife Kristina that she had miscarried a child with ex-boyfriend Matt Baier. Kristina shared a similar story, revealing she had recently had an ectopic pregnancy.
Throughout the current season, almost just as much time -- if not more -- of "Amber's" storyline has focused on Gary and Kristina, while she enjoyed time in Los Angeles with boyfriend Andrew and their newborn son.
When another fan tweeted at her to stick around and collect that "easy" money while MTV's still offering it, she responded, "No there's other things that I will do and it will be to help people like I've always only wanted to do!"
Another one commented that Andrew isn't making "'Teen Mom money," Portwood added, "Lord girl you're so off and all I have to say is my man takes care of me just as much as I take care of him."
She ended her Twitter spree by saying her "Stocks are full and house is paid off."
MTV wasn't immediately available for comment.
