Twitter has stood up and praised Ellen Pompeo for her recent comments regarding diversity.
During a video roundtable conversation for Porter magazine's "Women in Television" issue, the "Grey's Anatomy" star, along with actresses Gina Rodriguez, Gabrielle Union and Emma Roberts, discussed gender equality, the pay gap and the racism problem in Hollywood. In the middle of the discussion, Pompeo called out the magazine for lack of diversity in their staff.

And I didn't see enough color when I walked in the room today...When I show up on set, I'd like to see the crew look like the world that I walk around in every day and I think it's up to all productions to make sure that your crew looks like the world we see."

Fans, journalists and beyond took to their Twitter to applaud Pompeo on her bold statement. The full video was 24 minutes, however, it was this particular segment that went viral on Twitter. A "Grey's" fan account posted the clip with the tweet, "ellen pompeo SNAPPED." Pompeo was trending on Monday morning as people reacted to the actress' words.

Union posted the clip and asked her followers to "please take the time to watch the entire video."
"Grey's Anatomy" creator Shonda Rhimes tweeted the video and wrote "Go, Ellen, GO."
Actress Kathy Griffin thanked Pompeo for her call to action and expressed that those with similar influence should be using platforms for good as well.
"With a platform and wealth comes great responsibility," she said. "Anyone who has both of these gifts and doesn't call it out should be ashamed of themselves."
