As if Elba wasn't already loved by many, his exemplary statement about the #MeToo movement prompted people to praise the actor on Twitter.
If you didn't already have enough reasons to love Idris Elba, we've got another one for you.
In an interview with The Sunday Times, the "Thor: Ragnorak" star was asked if it's "hard" to be a male actor in the #MeToo era. While many male stars have struggled to answer similar questions, Elba, 46, replied with a simple, yet logical statement.
"It's only difficult if you're a man with something to hide," he said.
As if Elba, a.k.a 2018's Sexiest Man Alive, wasn't already incredibly well-liked, his exemplary response to the #MeToo movement prompted people on Twitter to offer their praise for the "Molly's Game" star.
"Preach, brother. Preach," director Ava DuVernay wrote in reaction to Elba's statement.
Queen of television, Shonda Rhimes tweeted the article and simply wrote, "see?" Actress Rosanna Arquette commented on Rhimes' tweet, saying "I love him."
"Idris Elba justifying why the women all want to marry him and why the men all want to be him," a fan tweeted and another said "Idris Elba is too handsome to be real and there's no way I could possibly find him even more attractive than I already do."
Fans and stars alike tweeted their admiration for Elba. Check out the reactions below.
If this text had been about pretty much any other famous dude save for maybe Tom Hanks or Keanu my first thought would've been “Oh god what did he say?” but it's Idris Elba so I knew it wouldn't be bad. pic.twitter.com/M3cod2sBct
