Many fans saw Kim's release date for her collaborative fragrance with Kylie Jenner as a slap in the face to Taylor Swift, reigniting their feud.
Kim Kardashian's fans were excited and confused by her recent Vogue expose which included a tour of the luxurious home she shares with Kanye West and their kids, so she took to Instagram on Wednesday to help clear some things up.
It was just one stop on a busy day for the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star who also had a major legal exam to take care of and an unexpected delay to her collaborative fragrance with Kylie Jenner that may or may not have anything to do with Taylor Swift's forthcoming album.
After the Vogue story ran, Kim's fans had lots of questions, but no part of the tour seemed to confuse them more than when they got a glimpse of the couple's bathroom. There was no question that it was massive and gorgeous, but there were questions about how they could wash their hands in sinks with no basins.
It looked like their faucets were mounted over flat countertops, which had fans wondering if the water just flowed onto the ground and drained there somewhere. Well, it turns out waterfalls are not part of the design strategy, but the sinks were specifically designed for the family.
What's more, there is a subtle basin, and one that's enough to contain the water and allow it to flow into slits carved into that countertop. And as Kim showed in her new bathroom tour video, no matter how high she turned up the water coming from the faucet, there was virtually no splash at all.
They were certainly excited to finally have their burning questions answered, with one fan writing, "we have answers to the sink mystery."
In another video, she showed off another space-age feature of their minimalist home. The couple proudly keeps things very streamlined and simple by design, though still very luxuriant, and the same goes for their bedroom television.
It looked like something out of a 1960s James Bond film, but was nevertheless very cool when Kim showed that their television rises out of the floor, looking almost seamless before it emerges. Oh, and because Kim is a savvy businesswoman, of course it was on "KUWTK" when she showed it off.
Or is that really what she and Kanye watch in their bedroom?
Maybe that's how she celebrates exciting news, as the tours came on the heels of the reality star announcing that she had aced an exam toward her recently-revealed goal of passing the bar and becoming a lawyer.
Aced my test btw ⚖️✏️📚— Kim Kardashian West (@KimKardashian) April 17, 2019
As she explained to her followers in an Instagram post on Monday, Kim will be facing monthly tests as she works toward this goal, with the first major hurdle being the "mini bar."
"As my first year is almost coming to an end I am preparing for the baby bar, a mini version of the bar, which is required when studying law this way. I've seen some comments from people who are saying it's my privilege or my money that got me here, but that's not the case. One person actually said I should 'stay in my lane.'"
"I want people to understand that there is nothing that should limit [the] pursuit of your dreams, and the accomplishment of new goals," she added. "You can create your own lanes, just as I am. The state bar doesn't care who you are. This option is available to anyone whose state allows it."
It's certainly been a busy day for Kim as she also announced a delay to the planned launch of her collaborative fragrance with Kylie Jenner. That launch was also met with criticism, as many fans saw it as Kim reigniting her feud with Taylor Swift.
Are they reading too much into two different things happening on the same day? Taylor had been counting down to April 26 for what surely feels like forever to her fans as they away anticipated new music from the pop diva. And then, April 26 was the announced day for the new fragrance launch.
Coincidence or intentional, it really didn't matter to social media as everyone there and much of the media latched onto the matching dates as evidence that Kim was throwing hard shade at Taylor, attempting to reignite their lengthy feud and stoke the flames of their fandoms.
Or maybe it was just a date. Either way, it's all in the past now, right? Well, except for all the conspiracy theories and speculation about why Kim really backed down from the launch date of the new fragrance. Was it really because some bottles didn't pass the "durability test," as Kim explained in her tweet, or did she blink?
Is it possible that Kim didn't know Taylor was looking to release music on April 26 and once she found out -- very loudly from everyone yelling at her on social media -- she decided to make a shift to specifically not reignite their feud ... she just needed a good cover story.
Or is this just a series of events that happened and people are attaching way more meaning onto them than was ever there.
It's enough to make you rest your head on a slightly indented countertop and run cool water over your face.
