Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra Began Dating One Year Ago Today -- See His Touching Tribute to His Wife

Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra are one of the most famous couples in the world, so it's shocking to think their romance began only one year ago to the day.

Looking back on how his love story with his wife began, the Jonas Brothers frontman took to Instagram Saturday to reminisce on that fateful day at "Beauty and the Beast Live in Concert" at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

"One year ago today, I went to go see 'Beauty and the Beast' at the Hollywood Bowl with a group of friends," the 26-year-old singer captioned a sweet shot of the pair at last weekend's Cannes Film Festival. "One of those friends was the woman that would become my best friend, my confidant, my muse, my beautiful wife."

"I am so grateful for our journey together so far," he continued. "You make me smile every day, and you inspire me to be the best version of myself. I am honored to be your husband. I love you."

Aaaaaaaaaand we're weeping.

Nick, 26, and Priyanka, 36, tied the knot in a three-day wedding extravaganza in December 2018 after a five-month engagement and only two months of dating before that.

They opened up about their whirlwind romance in Vogue's January cover story, where Nick revealed he sent a text to one of Priyanka's "Quantico" co-stars back in 2016 that said, "'Priyanka. Is. Wow.'" Just like that. He told the mag, "That's not the way I talk."

He then slid into her Twitter DMs. "'I'm hearing from a few mutual friends that we should meet.' I ask for the date. 'September 8, 2016.' We checked this morning," he explained.

"She responded day of with a message that said, 'My team can read this. Why don't you just text me,'" Nick added before Priyanka shouted, "Boy got the number!"

Their romance didn't take off until last year, but when it did, it was full speed ahead.

In July, Nick proposed in Crete, but Priyanka didn't see it coming. As far as she knew, it was her birthday trip. Nick said he waited until after midnight so that the special moment wouldn't take away from her future birthday celebrations.

"I said, 'Will you make me the happiest man in the world and marry me?'" Nick recalled. "No joke, she took about 45 seconds. Forty-five seconds of silence." Nick said that after waiting in silence, he eventually said to her, "I'm going to put this ring on your finger now unless you have any objections." Priyanka told Vogue she didn't say anything because she was speechless.

Looking back, Priyanka said she can pinpoint the moment she knew Nick would be her husband. It was the moment he said to her, "I love the way you look at the world. I love the drive you have."

"As a girl, I've never had a guy tell me, 'I like your ambition,'" she explained. "It's always been the opposite."
