Kris Jenner Cries When Kim Kardashian Asks to Take Over the Christmas Party

Kris Jenner is passing the party planner baton to Kim Kardashian, but not without some tears.

In a preview episode for this Sunday's "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," the momager cries when her daughter asks to take over the famous Kardashian Christmas Eve bash.

According to Kim, the party, which Kris has thrown for decades, has become more of her mom's friends and less kid-friendly.

"My mom's been doing it so long that it's turned into something different. It's kind of a party just for mom and her friends," Kim tells the confessional. "We want it to just be a place where we can just have fun."

The KKW beauty founder proposes that they possibly change the location of the party to her and Kanye West's home.

"We just have a different vibe and different energy," she tells Kris. "Kanye loves to put things together so if he knows we're doing a Christmas Eve party, he'll have like so many ideas."

The mom of four adds "all the siblings" agree the venue should be different this year. After learning she's "outnumbered," Kris admits, "Well that makes me sad."

"I want you to give us your blessing. I don't want to just steal it from you," Kim says.

"No, I want you guys to be able to do this 'til you're my age and one of your kids takes over. That's the whole...that's the joy," Kris replies. "It's just the thought of actually not doing it at my house."

"I'm getting emotional," she continues, wiping the tears from her eyes. "It makes me so sad. It's just that magic that you can make and make everybody feel so amazing on one night a year. It's that love."

Seeing her mom tear up causes Kim to get emotional too. "You're making me cry, seeing you cry," Kim says. "It's just a party."

"I know, but it's not just a party," her mom replies. "It's changing of the guards."

"Keeping Up with the Kardashians" airs Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET on E!
