Comedian Sebastian Maniscalco Will Host the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards

The Video Music Awards will feature music's biggest stars and fans honoring the best videos, performances and viral moments of the past year.

The 2019 MTV Video Music Awards have found their host.

During Tuesday night's episode of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," MTV announced Sebastian Maniscalco will host the "VMAs" live from Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on August 26.

Bruce Gillmer, "MTV VMAs" executive producer, said of Maniscalco, "We're thrilled to have the incredibly talented Sebastian Maniscalco as this year's VMA host. Sebastian is on FIRE right now and his comedic spin on relatable topics will make this year's show truly unforgettable."

Maniscalco had had many accolades in recent years. The "Green Book" star was named the 2018 Billboard "Comedian of the Year" and was included on Forbes' 2017 and 2018 list of "The World's Highest Paid Comedians."

Maniscalco will next be seen in Martin Scorsese's highly-anticipated film "The Irishman" starring Robert DeNiro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci. The stand-up comic is also touring throughout North America for his "You Bother Me" tour.

The 2019 Video Music Awards air Monday, August 26 on MTV.
