"You're gonna rot in in jail for the monstrous, evil things that you have done...."
Meghan McCain came under heavy fire on Twitter on Tuesday — but there was one person she certainly wasn't going to take it from.
"The View" host was dragged online over comments she made on Tuesday morning's show regarding migrant children detention centers, after she scoffed at commentators who described them as torture facilities.
But when celeb lawyer Michael Avenatti joined in the abuse, she lashed out in typically fiery fashion.

Coming from the guy who stole 4 million dollars from a paraplegic veteran I consider it a compliment coming from you. You're gonna rot in in jail for the monstrous, evil things that you have done.... https://t.co/MMUvyDRBee

McCain's riposte was as brutal as it was swift.

The celebrity lawyer is currently facing several indictments including tax evasion, fraud, and embezzlement. He denies all charges.
During the show, the panel discussed the "shockingly squalid conditions" children were detained in at the border, and the seven children who reportedly died in ICE custody.
Everyone agreed it was a humanitarian crisis, but McCain had an issue with the centers being called "torture facilities."
"I know what a torture facility looks like. I've been to one," she snapped, shutting down Joy Behar's attempted interruption. "When you have a facility whose specific purpose is to torture people, that is not what's going on. Yes, it's inhumane but there's a big difference between a Hanoi Hilton and what's happening at the border right now."
McCain's late father, John McCain, infamously spent six years as a prisoner of war after being shot down over Vietnam in 1967.
Meghan McCain Calls Joy Behar 'Bitch' During 'View' Debate, Sparks Convo About Why That's Okay
View StoryCo-host Sunny Hostin tried to make the point that it didn't really matter what we are calling them, the main concern should be the "dead kids" coming out of them; Behar meanwhile pointed out that while they may not have been set up as torture facilities, they have "turned out to be tortuous".
But McCain was undeterred, insisting "hyperbole" was the issue, because it stopped people from paying attention.
"Well, my father couldn't lift me above his head as a child because of his torture wounds so I do think that hyperbole is important," she stated.
Meanwhile, also trending on Twitter was Wayfair, after staff organized a walkout after learning the furniture company was providing beds to the detention centers.
While many praised the stand, just as many pointed out that if someone didn't provide furnishings the children would be sleeping on the floors.
