Michael Jackson's Family, Fans Unite on Twitter on 10th Anniversary of His Death -- Celebs Deafeningly Silent

MJ's family led the tributes — but not many stars followed.

Ten years ago today the world lost one of its greatest ever entertainers, but you wouldn't know it from celebrities on Twitter.

Tuesday marked the tenth anniversary of the death of Michael Jackson, but pretty much only his family and his die-hard fans marked the occasion.

The hashtags #honorMJ, #10YearsWithoutMichaelJackson and #RIPMichaelJackson were all trending on Twitter, but in the wake of the damning accusations made in the HBO documentary "Leaving Neverland," very few of the late King Of Pop's peers put their heads above the parapet.

Michael's brothers Tito and Jackie, and nephews Taj, TJ and Taryll led the tributes.

"A star can never die. It just turns into a smile and melts back into the cosmic music, the dance of life," Jackie wrote, quoting Michael himself. "Today we celebrate your life. Missing you every day, baby brother."

"It's been #10YearsWithoutMichaelJackson and the world is a much darker place since he passed," Taj wrote. "MJ lit up the world with his undeniable talent and his unwavering message of love. We must carry on this message of love and empathy, even if the blind can't see it."

TJ lamented: "The world is dimmer without you. You helped millions with your art and you helped millions more with your heart. Thank you for all you did for me and thank you for all you did for the human race. I will always look up to you and will always love you. #HonorMJ

But aside from blood relatives, the most famous faces publicly paying their respects were a handful of "America's Got Talent" also-rans (below).

Michael's son and daughter Prince and Paris have yet to post anything on social media.

Jackson died on June 25 2009, aged 50, from and overdose of propofol and benzodiazepine given to him by his personal physician, Conrad Murray. He was preparing a comeback concert series, "This Is It," at the time. Clouds have recently re-formed above the superstar's legacy after the release of "Leaving Neverland" earlier this year, in which two men, Wade Robson and James Safechuck, allege they were sexually abused by him as children.
