12 Emmy Snubs That Stung

This is the final time both "Game of Thrones" and "Veep" can be nominated.

The nominations for the 71st Annual Emmy Awards, honoring the best in television, were revealed at the Television Academy's Saban Media Center on Tuesday morning. Announcing the noms: "The Masked Singer" judge and actor Ken Jeong and "The Good Place" star D'Arcy Carden.

Winners will be revealed during the telecast on September 22, 2019, which will air live on Fox. No host has yet been named for the show.

"Game of Thrones" came out the clear winner from the nomination ceremony, racking up 32 noms -- including recognition for Emilia Clarke and Kit Harington in lead acting categories and Maisie Williams, Sophie Turner, Lena Headey, Peter Dinklage and more for supporting. This is the last time the show will be nominated.

It was also the last time for "Veep," which picked up 9 noms, including Outstanding Comedy Series and a lead actress nom for Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

Other shows picking up multiple noms included "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" with 20, "Chernobyl" with 19 and Netflix's "When They See Us" with 16. "Schitt's Creek" also picked up its first nominations with a Comedy Series nom and love for stars Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara. "Fleabag" also seemed to be an academy favorite.

Among the biggest snubs: Julia Roberts and her Amazon series "Homecoming," Levy and O'Hara's "Schitt's Creek" costars Dan Levy and Annie Murphy, "Fleabag's" Hot Priest Andrew Scott, the trans women of "Pose," Christine Baranski and "The Good Fight," George Clooney and "Catch-22" on Hulu, the final season of "The Big Bang Theory," Richard Madden for "Bodyguard" -- which was nominated -- and Emma Stone for Netflix's "Maniac." A nom for announcer D'Arcy Carden would have been nice too, as she consistently steals "The Good Place" as robot Janet.
