Beyonce Leads Stars Honoring Nipsey Hussle on His Birthday

The beloved rapper was shot dead in LA on March 31.

Nipsey Hussle would have turned 34 on Thursday.

And Beyonce joined the stars paying tribute to the late rapper on the first birthday he missed since being gunned down in LA earlier this year.

"The marathon will be televised for N.I.P. / 'Cause true kings don't die, we multiply, peace," she posted on Instagram, borrowing her husband Jay Z's lyric from their song with Childish Gambino, "MOOD 4 EVA".

"Happy birthday in paradise," she added to her pic of the tragic hip hop star.

Nipsey's longtime partner Lauren London wrote a touching tribute to the father of their son, Kross.

"Today We celebrate You my beloved. Today we honor you King. We are to live in our highest vibrations today because that is how Nip lived his life. We should encourage and inspire today because that is how Hussle lived his life. Today we should love and give truth because that is how He lived his life."

"His Purpose still lives on with us all. Ermias wasn’t a sad soul," she wrote, using his given name. "He was a powerful strong magical soul. Today is the day we lift up."

"Long Live My other half. My beloved King. Ermias. Nip Hussle The Great! I miss you. I love you. Still here holding it UP!"

On Instagram, a still mourning Big Boy shared: "I can write a novel today on Nip. I won't. It's not just today, I MISS Nipsey EVERYDAY. Nip, I LOVE you and MISS you. Happy Birthday, Nip."

Ava DuVernay wrote: "For Nipsey. Ermias. Son. Brother. Partner. Friend. Artist. Champion. Grateful that he existed. Grateful we walked this vast earth at the same time. In the same city. Grateful that our paths crossed. Grateful for the work and wisdom he gave us. We miss you. Happy Birthday, Nip. xo"

Tyga also posted: "Happy Birthday NIP. I know you somewhere celebrating looking down at us. we lookin up at u bro #themarathoncontinues."

Nipsey was shot and killed outside his Marathon clothing store in South LA on March 31. 29-year-old Eric Holder was subsequently charged with his murder.

Fans hoping to pay tribute at the store, which has remained closed since his death, found the entire mall fenced off on Thursday in an effort to stop crowds from congregating.

Indeed 19 people were injured there the day after the shooting, when a vigil turned into a stampede after a false report of shots being fired.

During Nipsey's funeral procession through LA ten days later, one person was killed and three more were hurt in a real shooting.
