Kate Upton Rails on Victoria's Secret Lack of Inclusivity, Calls Annual Fashion Show a 'Snoozefest'
Relive the 2018 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

The show's creative director once said she "would never use" Upton because her look was "too obvious."

It's safe to say Kate Upton isn't losing sleep over the reported cancellation of this year's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

In fact, she seems downright thrilled.

When the topic came up during Sunday's "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen," the new mom said, "You know what? We're sick of seeing the same body type. You have to be body-inclusive now. Every woman needs to be represented; otherwise, it's a snoozefest."

While the 27-year-old model has appeared in the lingerie company's catalog in the past, she's never actually walked in one of their runway shows. That might be because the show's creative director, Sophia Neophitou, told The New York Times in 2012 -- the same year Kate landed her first Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover -- that she "would never use" Upton because her look was "too obvious."

"She's like a Page 3 girl," Neophitou said, referring to the voluptuous women often featured in The Sun. "She's like a footballer's wife, with the too-blond hair and that kind of face that anyone with enough money can go out and buy."

Two months after giving birth to her first child, who she shares with husband Justin Verlander, Upton posed for Health Magazine. The photos were un-retouched, a concept that was unfathomable in the fashion industry until very recently.

"It was a really hard decision to make 'cause it was months after I gave birth to my little baby girl, but I thought it was really important 'cause we're surrounded by so much retouching and social media and filters, and we've kind of lost touch of what's real and what's not real," Upton said on Sunday. "And for me, this was a big step to put out a good image of being real and real expectations of what it's like after birth."

Kate said she and her husband would love to expand their family, telling an inquiring caller, "For sure more kids."

"It's the most amazing to be a mom," she gushed. "I knew Justin was a good cook, but he's a really good chef because after I gave birth, I was breastfeeding, so I was feeding our baby, and he said that he would feed me to make sure that we were all as a family fed."
