Everyone meet Ferdinand, the Mystical Meteorologist.
Global News' Calgary meteorologist, Jordan Witzel, came out for his Halloween segment as a unicorn -- and his colleagues couldn't handle it.
On Thursday, Witzel gave his fellow news anchors quite the surprise when he showed up to bring the daily weather in a very, very tight costume.
The ensemble included a white bodysuit with matching tights and spandex shorts, a hot pink and purple wig, fuchsia leg warmers, white angel wings, a multi-colored, furry tail, and, of course, a unicorn horn. The finishing touch? Silver, metallic hooves.
"It's so cold out there!" Witzel said as he came out in front of the screen. News anchor Dallas Flexhaug immediately started laughing so hard she was in tears, while another woman off-screen, asked, "Oh no, what is going on here?!"
Witzel asked Dallas -- who was struggling to keep it together -- if she was alright. Since she was laughing so hard, the only answer she could get out was, "the shorts."
"What are you wearing, Witzel?!" the person asked off-screen. Witzel replied, "I'm a unicorn, Jesus! I'm Ferdinand, where's my name key? Identify me!"
Witzel's name key then appeared as requested: "Ferdinand: Mystical Meteorologist."
"These are tight," Witzel said of his costume and then expressed how he needed to "get into character." Apparently, this meant for Witzel to show off his shiny hooves as he attempted to hold the screen remote.
At this point, Dallas had to bring out a tissue because she was laughing hysterically. Witzel, er, Ferdinand, continued to twirl and show his colleagues his costume, including his furry unicorn tail.
When asked if he's going to be able to work the remote, Witzel replied, "Absolutely. Look at that, I have magical hooves."
As Dallas continued to giggle uncontrollably, Witzel said he didn't shave. The meteorologist then began to prance.
"Sure, sure, that's where the focus is," the woman off-screen joked.
