Mariah Carey says after Halloween -- but do these stars agree?
When the clock struck 12 on November 1, Mariah Carey sprung into action. With Halloween out of the way, she believed it was finally time to usher in holiday music, including her mega-hit "All I Want for Christmas Is You."
The Jonas Brothers also got into the spirit early with a new song, "Like It's Christmas," dropping Friday. But when it comes to seasonal songs, how soon is too soon?
That's the question we posed to a handful of stars at the press day for Lifetime's gigantic holiday movie slate, including Hilarie Burton, Keshia Knight Pulliam, Ashanti, Kim Fields and Sarah Drew.
"I'm trying to think, when do I start hearing Christmas music? I mean, my cousin, she's a little crazy-- she starts playing Christmas music in July," said Ashanti. "That's a bit extensive for me. But I'm not mad at after Halloween. You know, I'm not mad at that. Because you gotta get into the Halloween vibe first. But I'm not mad at that. That's a good rule, Mimi!"
For Burton, she said she has to wait until after Thanksgiving, because husband Jeffrey Dean Morgan is a huge fan of the turkey-filled holiday. "My husband really loves Thanksgiving," she said, admitting she's already started to take over the holiday with her now-annual Christmas movies airing the same day. "I'm smug about it, but he's like, 'I just wanted to watch football and eat turkey, and now it's Hilarie Burton day,'" she explained, "I feel like I owe it to him to wait til the day after."
Kim Fields, Keshia Knight Pulliam and Sarah Drew were all in agreement and wait until after Turkey Day -- sorry, Mariah -- see their reasoning in the video above.
