Mexican actor Alejandro Sandi has been rescued by authorities on Monday after being kidnapped by robbers who hijacked his SUV on Sunday morning.
According to Mexico Daily News, the Telemundo star -- known for his role on the series "El Senor de los Cielos" -- was driving in the tourist area of Nevado de Toluca, when robbers stopped the truck, pulled out his companions -- actresses Vanessa Arias and Esmeralda Ugalde -- and drove away with Sandi still inside.
A French tourist Frederic Michel was also abducted in a similar incident. He was traveling in a separate vehicle.
Arias and Ugalde posted a video of their terrifying experience on Instagram, prior to Sandi and Michel being rescued.
"They took everything. They took my truck. Our bags. Our phones. The material things don't matter to us, what matters is that we were victims and felt unsafe," Aria said.

"Obviously, we're already taking the necessary steps," Ugalde said. "We're confident that Alejandra is okay and we're sending good vibes," she added, wrapping her arms around Aria. "We're asking for your prayers so he can come back home safe."
Shortly after the posting, a press release from the Secretariat of Citizen Security and Protection confirmed the two men were recovered and safe.
"After becoming aware of the fact, communication was established with the French Embassy, and research and intelligence work was carried out for the location of the victims, who once released, received the corresponding attention."
