Comedian Jenny Slate says she will no longer voice the character "Missy" on Netflix's "Big Mouth" because "Black characters on an animated show should be played by Black people." "Ending my portrayal of 'Missy' is one step in a life-long process of uncovering the racism in my actions," she wrote.

After becoming the first transgender spokesperson for L'Oreal in 2017, Munroe Bergdorf was fired shortly after for a post denouncing racism. When L'Oreal shared a post in support of BLM on June 1, Bergdorf commented, "I said just yesterday that it would only be a matter of time before RACIST AF brands saw a window of PR opportunity to jump on the bandwagon ... I'm disgusted and writing this in floods of tears and shaking." The company later announced that it was creating a U.K. Diversity & Inclusion Advisory Board of which Bergdorf would be a part.

"The Flash" star Hartley Sawyer was fired after offensive tweets he shared before joining the show resurfaced. A statement released by The WB read, "In regards to Mr. Sawyer's posts on social media, we do not tolerate derogatory remarks that target any race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, or sexual orientation. Such remarks are antithetical to our values and polices, which strive and evolve to promote a safe, inclusive and productive environment for our workforce."

Netflix has removed four Chris Lilley shows from its platform in Australia and New Zealand over blackface concerns. The shows include "We Can Be Heroes," "Summer Heights High," "Angry Boys," and "Jonah From Tonga."
