Marlon Wayans and his brothers Shawn and Keenen created the Scary Movie franchise, with Marlon and Shawn writing the first two films, while Keenen directed. They were no longer involved with the franchise after Scary Movie 2, until the 2024 reboot was announced. Marlon continued his comedy career with his brother Shawn, acting in a variety of movies together, including White Chicks. Wayans also created a variety of comedy shows and communities such as What the Funny, an online hub for urban comedy, as well as the comedy competition show The Funniest Wins. The comedian is also known for partnering with various YouTube channels related to comedy. His most recent project was a role in Bel-Air, the dramatic Peacock reboot of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

Wayans has not been recently active in Hollywood, with his last film credit being the 2009 movie Dance Flick. Since Scary Movie, Jon Abrahams bounces between comedy and horror. Horror and thriller films he’s been in include House of Wax, Black Hearted Killer, Condemned, and most recently, Terrifier 3. Abrahams has also expanded his talent from acting to directing. He released All at Once in 2016, and he followed with Clover” in 2017 and Exploited, a gay slasher film, in 2022. Besides living a bi-coastal lifestyle in New York and Los Angeles, not much is reported on his personal life, but he still does events and press revolving around Scary Movie. Shannon Elizabeth went on to work in films and TV shows that would solidify her as a Hollywood sex symbol, especially in the thriller/horror genre. Dave Sheridan has stayed true to his Officer Doofy roots, as his career is based around roles in both comedy and horror films. He played Sheriff Lincoln in a Walking Dead parody entitled The Walking Deceased. He also appeared in both A Haunted House and A Haunted House 2. These days, Sheridan keeps a lower profile, but his most recent project was released in June 2024. He plays Hank in the Apple TV+ fantasy movie Patsy Lee and the Keepers of the 5 Kingdoms.
