While shows like Succession, Ted Lasso and White Lotus all did extremely well when it came to this year's Emmy nominations, some beloved shows or standout performances failed to score any love. Here are the biggest snubs, based on critical acclaim and/or overall fan appreciation for these series and stars!
Former award show darling This Is Us ended its run this year and failed to earn a single nomination for its final season. Leaving Mandy Moore out of the competition feels like a particularly egregious omission.
Mandy Moore reacted to This Is Us' snub on IG, writing, "Do I wish our show was recognized in what I think was its finest hour? Sure. And Dan Fogelman's brilliant writing for 6 seasons (hello THE TRAIN)? [Ken Olin's] impeccable direction? Our insanely, wildly talented cast and crew? Yah ... but nothing can take away what our show meant to SO MANY (us included). That's an incredible legacy to be a part of. I will be forever grateful."
Another show that failed to get major love for its final season was Blackish, a series which, at its prime, was also an awards darling. Its last episodes only scored nominations for contemporary hairstyling and costumes, failing to get a Comedy Series or any acting noms.
Yet another final season that didn't get the sendoff it deserved was Insecure. In addition to a Lead Actress nom for Issa Rae, the show only scored noms for cinematography and editing -- and failed to get one last Comedy Series nom.
Fans were not thrilled with how the final season of Killing Eve ended and it seems the Television Academy wasn't either. While stars Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh were once again recognized, those were the only nominations overall and the show itself went out without one final Drama Series nom.
Paramount's Yellowstone failed to garner a single nomination, despite pre-nomination love for stars Kevin Costner and Kelly Reilly, who submitted In the Lead Actress category. The show's prequel series, 1883, however, did land some technical nominations for cinematography and music.
While Stranger Things did score a Best Drama nomination -- as well as noms for casting, editing, hairstyling, prosthetics, sound mixing and stunts -- fans were bummed to see the show's young stars left off the list. Sadie Sink, Millie Bobby Brown and Caleb McLaughlin were all favorites -- but could still score nominations for Season 4's final two episodes at next year's awards, since they dropped after the eligibility deadline.
Steve Martin reacted to Selena Gomez's snub in an interview with The New York Times. "We’re thrilled at the nominations, not only for us but for the show," he said, adding, "We're dismayed that Selena was not nominated because she's so crucial to our performances, really."
Selena Gomez may have become the second Latina producing nominee for a comedy series, ever, thanks to "Only Murders In the building," but she was left off the Lead Actress list -- despite male costars Steve Martin and Martin Short both getting noms.
Julia Roberts was fantastic in Starz's Watergate drama Gaslit and an A-list, high-profile name like hers should have been Emmys catnip. The show, which also featured performances from Sean Penn, Dan Stevens and Betty Gilpin, was shut out of the acting and series categories. It did, however, score some technical noms, including prosthetics.
Similarly, Showtime's stacked cast of The First Lady was also left off the list this morning. Michelle Pfeiffer, Viola Davis and Gillian Anderson starred as Betty Ford, Michelle Obama and Eleanor Roosevelt, respectively, but all three were shut out. While the show overall was met with mixed reviews from critics, Pfeiffer was considered a standout.
