Grey's Anatomy has been renewed for a 22nd season by ABC. The renewal makes the medical drama ABC's longest running scripted television show, as it just turned 20 years old. The series will continue to follow Dr. Meredith Grey, played by Ellen Pompeo, and the staff at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.
9-1-1 has been renewed for its ninth season by ABC. This will be the show's third season on ABC after it originally aired on FOX for its first six seasons before being cancelled and picked up by its new network. Season nine will continue to follow the lives of first-responders and star Angela Basset, Peter Kraus, Oliver Stark, Jennifer Love Hewitt and more.
The Rookie has been renewed for its eighth season on ABC. The show follows John Nolan who in season one was the oldest rookie LAPD had ever seen. He used his wisdom and skills to keep up with his police class that consisted of officer's 20 years younger than him. Now, the character is no longer a rookie but continues to help new officers who enter the force. Season eight will continue to explore how John handles his age and challenges with the job.
Will Trent has been renewed for a fourth season by ABC. The show will continue to follow the Georgia Bureau of Investigations agent who wants to make a difference after growing up facing the hardships of the Atlanta foster care system. Season four will consist of 18 episodes.
Tim Allen's newest comedy, Shifting Gears, has been renewed for a second season by ABC. The show follows widower Matt who owns a car restoration shop, and his life gets turned upside down when his estranged daughter and kids move in with him.
The Simpsons continue to be the longest running show in television history as FOX has renewed them for four new seasons. This renewal will carry the animated comedy through season 40 which will air in the 2028-2029 season.
Family Guy has been renewed by FOX for four additional seasons. The politically incorrect and comedic Griffin family will be securely on TV screens until the 2028-2029 season with their 27th season.
Bob's Burgers has been renewed for four additional seasons by FOX. The series that follows restaurant owner Bob Belcher and his family is set to be on air until 2029. This renewal takes the animated comedy through its 19th season.
After moving to TBS in 2014, American Dad! will be returning to FOX for the 2025-2026 season. Additionally, FOX has renewed the animated comedy that follows Stan Smith and his family for four seasons, taking it to 2029.
The Handmaid's Tale is officially getting a spin-off entitled The Testaments. Ann Dowd will reprise her role as Aunt Lydia and the series will take place years after the original series' end and will focus around Agnes, also known as Hannah. Elisabeth Moss will help produce the series that will show a new generation of women inside Gilead.
Dexter: Original Sin has been renewed by Paramount+. The show prequels the show Dexter and follows the serial killer Dexter Morgan 15 years prior to the original series as he first learns the skills that make him a dangerous man. The show shows his relationship with his father Christian who teaches him how to select his victims and not get caught all while he starts an internship at the forensics department at Miami PD. Production is scheduled to start soon and pick up where season one left off.
The Wizards of Waverly Place reboot, Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, has been renewed for a second season. The pilot was the most watched series premiere on Disney+ in the streaming platform's history, and the series has gained millions of viewers. The show follows Justin Russo in his adult life when he must revisit his magical roots to become a wizarding mentor. David Henrie will continue to star and executively produce the series as it begins production next month.
America's Most Wanted has been renewed for a 28th season by FOX and is set to premiere in April 2025. The current version of the show features the original host John Walsh and his son, Callahan, as they evaluate a variety of engrossing cases. Nothing is off limits from murders to drug overdoses to organized crime rings, and the father-son duo also consult industry experts on the criminals and victims.
CBS has renewed Watson for a second season. The series premiered in January, and the pilot was CBS's most-watched scripted episode for the 2024-2025 series. The series follows Watson six months after Sherlock Holmes death, and he makes a career change from solving crime to solving medical mysteries. Season one is set to end in May, and production details for season two have yet to be released.
After Midnight after two seasons has been cancelled by CBS. The decision comes from the host Taylor Tomlinson deciding to leave the show, so she can resume pursuing stand-up comedy full time. The game show that tested comedians with a variety of pop culture games will end in June and as of now, it will not be replaced with another CBS original program.
Scooby-Doo is getting a modern revival on Netflix, with an eight episode live-action series. This new adaptation will showcase the origin story of how the mystery-solving friend group and talented dog first came together. Per the streamer, Shaggy and Daphne start the gang during their final summer camp together, and they befriend Velma and Freddy as they solve the case of a supernatural murder after encountering a lost Great Dane puppy. No cast has been revealed.
Max's blockbuster international sensation from Poland will be back as the streamer has picked up Season 2 of The Eastern Gate, starring Lena Góra and Karol Pocheć. The series described as "modern espionage game amid brewing international conflict and rising tensions" follows a Polish spy (Góra) who wants out of the game, but gets pulled back in when her partner is exposed by Russian operatives.
Hallmark has renewed long-running drama When Calls the Heart, based on Janette Oke's book of the same name, for a record 13th season set to premiere in 2026. "Hearties are far more than a fan-base — they are a connected community, as loyal and supportive as the characters of Hope Valley," says Hallmark. "It is an honor to tell stories of hope, resilience, humor and romance that continue to resonate with millions of viewers for twelve seasons and beyond." In Season 12, Erin Krakow and Kevin McGarry celebrated their new love in the early 1900s, which will continue to blossom next year.
Severance has been renewed for a third season at Apple TV+ following the second season finale. Speaking with EW, creator-writer-executive producer Dan Erickson promised the show would "come sooner" than the 3-year break between the first two seasons -- citing strikes for the delay. "Our goal is never to draw out people's pain for three years. And I hope that we don't have to do that again," he added.

Apple TV+ has finally renewed Ted Lasso for a fourth season, with Jason Sudeikis reprising his role. While appearing on Jason and Travis Kelce's New Heights podcast, Sudeikis confirmed the season is being written now, teasing, "Ted’s coaching a women's team." It's unclear who else will return.
BET has renewed Tyler Perry's Sistas for a ninth season that is set to premiere July 16th. The show follows a friend group as they go through different high and lows in their personal, professional and social life. Netflix has renewed Beauty in Black for a second season. The Tyler Perry creation follows Kimmie who is struggling to remain afloat after her mother kicks her out and becomes involved in stripping. Her life crosses with the very successful Mallory, and their stories come together as Kimmie discovers the foundation of a sex trafficking ring and attempts to find her kidnapped sister.
Landman has been renewed for a second season by Paramount+. When the first episode released in November 2024, the drama series had the largest premiere in the last two years for the streaming service. The show follows different wealth levels of the oil industry and poses the characters and conflicts as a modern day goldrush in the United States. Originally based off the podcast Boomtown, plot nor release details have been disclosed for the next season.
Netflix has renewed The Perfect Couple for a second season. Originally a limited series, season two will also be based off of a Elin Hilderbrand novel, this one The Swan Song. The story will follow the Richardons who live a lavish life filled with parties and socializing. They purchase a summer home that mysteriously burns to the ground, and their most essential employee goes missing, causing a tense and suspenseful plot line.
A spin-off of the series, Braxton Family Values, The Braxtons have been renewed for a second season by AMC. The series follows Toni, Towanda, Trina, Tamar and Ms. Evelyn all having fun together while also addressing various conflicts and strains in their relationships. Season two will specifically focus on preparation for Towanda's wedding to music producer Sean Hall.
Mistletoe Murders will be returning for the 2025 holiday season. Hallmark has renewed the series that combines drama, mystery and typical Hallmark romance and Christmas spirit for a second season. The show follows Christmas shop owner Emily Lane with a mysterious past that gives her skills to help Detective Sam Wilner solve crimes. Season two will pick up from season one's cliffhanger that left fans questioning who Emily Lane truly is.
Prime has cancelled Cruel Intentions after one season. The show, based off the 1999 movie, follows step-siblings Caroline Merteuil and Lucien Belmont who are on the top of a societal pyramid at their private college in the Washington D.C. area. They deceptively befriend the vice president's daughter after a Greek life hazing scandal threatens their reputation. Reasons for the cancellation are unknown, but critics speculate it originates from season's one hard path to release as it bounced from studio to studio.

The show follows Conan surprising fans while immersing himself in different cultures around the world, even if creates uncomfortable situations for him. He then quipped, "Hey Netflix, how you doin'?" while reminding streamers and other networks how popular the series is, asking for them to pick it up. "We ain't done chasing bad guys," he concluded, "If you force us us to be finished, we simply say thank you."

Ahead of its season three spring premiere, CBS has renewed Criminal Minds: Evolution. This marks the 19th season across the Criminal Minds franchise. Details about season four will be released after season three which picks up six months after season two following the prisoners attack on the serial killer, Elias Voit. The attack results in his followers retaliating across the country.
While FBI has been renewed for the 2025-2026 season, the spin-offs, FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted have been cancelled by CBS. The FBI franchise is produced by Universal Television, and the cancellation comes from financial constraints as well as impediments from CBS working with an outside studio. Despite these cancellations, the newly announced spin-off FBI: CIA is still scheduled to move forward.
Ahead of its season three premiere, AMC has renewed the thriller Dark Winds for a fourth season. Filming begins Spring 2025, and it will air in 2026. Zahn McClarnon who stars on the show will make his directorial debut, and he will continue to serve as executive producer. The series which is based off of the Leaphorn & Chee books by Tony Hillerman follows Navajo Tribal police officers who's reserve is under threat. The latest mystery is the disappearance of two boys.
Baylen Out Loud has been renewed for a second season by TLC. The reality TV series that premiered in January 2025 follows Baylen, a 22 year old who has Tourette Syndrome. The show showcases how she has navigated her journey, including her motor and vocal tics, since being diagnosed at 18. The reality series also focuses around Baylen figuring out adult independence, so she can move out of her parent's home. The show has gained over 14 million viewers and with its current growth, it is projected to become cable's most watched unscripted show for women between the ages of 25-54.
Amazon has renewed Jury Duty for a second season nearly 2 years after its premiere. Season one follows Ronald Gladden who finds himself serving on a jury that is composed entirely of actors, including James Marsden. Despite the sitcom's name, season two will not be taking place at a court house, but instead a corporate retreat.
After 9-1-1 moved from FOX to ABC, the latter has greenlit a spinoff, 9-1-1: Nashville. Once again, the series will revolve around police and first responders, while Angela Bassett -- who stars on the parent series -- will serve as one of the executive producers. The news comes after FOX also canceled the original 9-1-1 spinoff, 9-1-1: Lone Star.
Avatar: The Last Airbender is getting a new spin-off entitled Avatar: Seven Havens. Nickelodeon greenlit the animated series for 26 episodes that will take place in the same universe, but they will follow a new Avatar. She is a new earthbender who comes after the former Avatar, Korra. However, she is seen as an enemy to both humans and spirits who hunt her. She and her twin must come together to save humanity and the world while having enemies on multiple sides. Avatar: The Last Airbender show creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko will be part of this next installment as well.
Miss Scarlett, staring Kate Phillips, has been renewed for a sixth season by Masterpiece. The show follows Eliza Scarlett, a single Victorian-era woman who decides to take on her father's detective business after his passing. The logline for the new season officially reads, "As Eliza and Blake’s once-fraught relationship begins to evolve, they find that working together may be a tricky prospect. Meanwhile, newlyweds Ivy and Potts adjust to married life, a new detective settles in at Scotland Yard, and Nash causes chaos, [...] his greatly anticipated return is Moses Valentine/..."
The Jennifer Hudson Show has been renewed for a fourth season. The talk show is making an impact with daytime television, as it ranks third in viewership for its genre and has gained thousands of followers on all social media platforms. It has especially gone viral on TikTok for its "Spirit Tunnel" to welcome celebrity guests. Jennifer herself said, "This show is a testament to what happens when you do what you love, and when you do it alongside an unstoppable team who creates magic in new ways every single day. I’m so excited to take this adventure to new heights in season 4!”
BBC has renewed Vigil for a third season, and the characters Amy Silva and DI Kirsten Longacre are headed to the artic. The series takes place in a new location each season, with previous seasons taking place in a submarine and in an air force base. In the next installment, Silva and Longacre must brace the cold at a research center where someone shot and killed a member of a covert British special forces mission.
After two seasons, Bookie has been cancelled at Max. The comedy series followed Danny Colavito, played by Sebastian Maniscalco. Danny is a veteran bookie in Los Angeles who's life becomes a lot crazier when sports betting is legalized. He has to increasingly deal with clients, co-workers and people in his personal life, creating comedic scenarios for him and his friends.
Blue Bloods may be over, but it's new spin-off, Boston Blue, is just starting. CBS has ordered the reboot to star Donnie Wahlberg‘s Danny Reagan. The NYPD detective is taking on a new city, Boston, where he will team up with Detective Lena Peters, who comes from the lineage of a prominent law enforcement family.
Tamron Hall has been renewed by ABC for a seventh season. Season six not only included celebrity guests, but also discussions around topics such as medical gaslighting and true crime. The show has grown in viewers, especially in Youtube where it saw an increase in view and follower count. The host herself responded to the renewal with, "For many, the number seven represents a completion for us. For my team and I, season seven represents the continued growth of the show built by the Tam Fam."
Max has renewed The Pitt, starring Noah Wyle, for a second season. The show is still in the middle of it's first and is set to have its finale in April. Each episode of the medical drama represents one hour in the 15 hour shift of Dr. Robby in the Pittsburgh Trauma ER. The show is meant to examine the real challenges of medical front line workers and currently has a 93% rating among critics on Rotten Tomatoes.
Netflix has renewed XO. Kitty for a season three. Season two picked up on Kitty fighting her feelings between the various love interests of her first boyfriend, Dae, as well as her school peers, Minho and Yuri. Season three will differ from the first two seasons as it will take place over summer break, rather than the school year. The renewal follows the show ranking high in Netflix's top 10, as season two brought in even more fans with the guest appearance of Noah Centineo's character, Peter, from To All the Boys I've Loved Before.
FX's English Teacher has been renewed for a season two. The series follows Evan Marquez, played by Brian Jordan Alvarez, who is a gay high school english teacher that must explore how to handle personal, political and professional aspects of himself in his place of work. The situational comedy puts himself and his peers in various scenarious where they explore this spectrum as they interact with each other and their students.
A reboot of the early 2010s show Victorious is in talks at Nickelodeon. The working title is Hollywood Arts and Daniella Monet, who is also an executive producer, will reprise her role as Trina Vega. The questionably talented Vega sister will return to her high school as its latest teacher. It is unknown if any of the original cast will guest star or also reprise their roles.
AMC+ and Shudder have renewed The Creep Tapes for a second season. Based off the film franchise, the series follows Creep's signature serial killer who pays unsuspecting videographers to document his life before they become his next victim. All the tapes come together to create the series, and season 2 will follow a similar format. The Creep Tapes became the most watched show of all time on Shudder, following the release of season one.
We TV has renewed Deb's House for a second season. The reality show follows rap R&B artist Deb Anthony as she embarks to find a new protégé that she believes can be the next female R&B superstar. Ten women compete in a variety of challenges that test their vocal ability, and only one will win. Season two is already filming in New York and New Jersey and will premiere this summer with eight one-hour long episodes.
HGTV's Love It or List It is officially returning after receiving a confirmed replacement for former reality star, Hilary Farr. Page Turner will take the renovator's place in the series, and David Visentin will return as the show's realtor. The show follows families who are torn between staying in their imperfect home or moving. David and Page, formerly Hilary, face off and banter, as David shows the best listings he can offer, while his co-star works magic renovating the home to meet the family's needs. At the end, people decide to love or list their home.
In honor of its 20th anniversary, NBC has renewed America's Got Talent for its 20th season. Heidi Klum will be making her exit as a judge after being on the show for four seasons. Mel B, who was a judge for seasons 8-13, will be making a return. Terry Crews will remain the host, and Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel and Sofia Vergara will remain on the judge's panel. Auditions will have a special twist for the 20th season as singers, dancers, magicians and all kinds of performers come to compete for the grand prize.
After only one season, Peacock has cancelled the horror-comedy Hysteria!, starring Julie Bowen. The series took place in the 1980s in a town where a group of high school outcast form a heavy metal band that capitalizes off the disappearance of their school's quarterback. However, following kidnappings, murders and supernatural instances link back to them, and the band must figure out why/how while their town becomes victim to “Satanic Panic." While the show did well with critics, it did not rank high in streaming charts.
After one season, Hulu has canceled How to Die Alone. The show's star and creator Natasha Rothwell reacted to the news, saying she's "shocked, heartbroken and frankly, baffled" by the decision, which is "a tough reality to accept because the show is an undeniable critical, creative and award-winning success." She is currently shopping the show to other outlets, adding, "Now more than ever, television that amplifies previously unheard voices, and that prioritizes hiring and casting decisions that accurately reflect the diversity of the world, is essential."
A Buffy reboot with Sarah Michelle Gellar is reportedly in development at Hulu. Per The Hollywood Reporter sources, the show would revolve around a younger Slayer, while Gellar's Buffy Summers would not be a central character. It's being described as "the next chapter in the Buffyverse," with Chloé Zhao set to direct.
Ahead of its season two premiere, Netflix has confirmed that The Sandman will not be renewed for any additional seasons. The series follows, Dream, a powerful being that controls all dreams, who must travel across different timelines to smooth disruption after he's been held captive for years. The drama series was slow by Netflix standards to receive a season two renewal; the cancellation also follows sexual misconduct accusations against the show's creator, Neil Gaiman, who has denied the allegations.
Netflix has picked up Little House on the Prairie for a reboot. Based on the original books by Laura Ingalls Wilder and the inital NBC series, Rebecca Sonnenshine will serve as showrunner and bring the story back to life. The show will showcase both the highs and lows of life in the American frontier, and be a combination of "part hopeful family drama, part epic survival tale, and part origin story of the American West."
HGTV has renewed home renovation experts Ben and Erin Napier's show, Home Town. The series follows the Napiers as they work to bring new life to outdated homes and historical locations in Laurel, Mississippi, while balancing their busy family life. The show featuring the small town will be extended for 32 more episodes shooting through 2027.
HBO has announced that the upcoming season of The Righteous Gemstones will be its last. With season four set to premiere in March, series creator and actor, Danny McBride, said "The Lord spoke to me and said it’s time to wrap this sucker up. The story this season made the themes, ideas, and characters in ‘The Righteous Gemstones’ feel whole and complete..." The comedy series follows the Gemstone children who recieve leadership over the Church, but learn that it's not an easy task and their extravagent lifestyle comes at a cost.
The White Lotus has been renewed for a fourth season at HBO, ahead of the Season 3 premiere on February 16.
Ahead of its season eight premiere and five year anniversary on Valentine's Day, Love is Blind has been renewed for two more seasons. The Netflix show is now guranteed to make it at least to ten seasons. Details of season nine and ten, such as location and contestants, have not been released. The show follows singles who come in and date other contestants in pods, where they can only build a connection on voice and personality. To see each other, they must agree to become engaged and then their relationship is put to the test with the added factor of looks and the real world.
A&E is bring back Duck Dynasty with Duck Dynasty: The Revival. The show will feature the original series members including, Willie and Korie Robertson "and their growing family of adult children and grandchildren, the next generation of Robertsons living on the family homestead in Louisiana." Miss Kay, Uncle Si, John Luke, Sadie, Will, Bella and Rebecca are all expected to return, while controversial Phil Robertson is not mentioned in the press release. The show is already greenlit for two seasons, consisting of 20 new episodes.
ABC has renewed its new crime drama series, High Potential, for a second season. It's the second show to secure its spot in the 2025-2026 ABC line up and follows a woman named, Morgan. Morgan is a LAPD cleaning lady with an IQ of 160. When her intelligence is discovered, she starts to council one of the department's major crime divisions. Season two will continue her story and is expected to be longer than season one's 13 episode run.
Abbott Elementary has become the first show to be renewed for ABC's 2025-2026 television schedule. The work place comedy will continue on for a fifth season. The Emmy-nominated show is a "mockumentary" style filming that follows teaches in an underfunded public school in Philadelphia. Quinta Brunson created the show and also stars in it as Janine Teagues, a perky teacher determined to fix Abbott's problems when she stumbles upon them.
The Lincoln Lawyer has been renewed for a fourth season by Netflix. The legal drama series follows Mickey Haller, played by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo. Haller is a lawyer who takes on a variety of cases around Los Angeles, but he operates out of the trunk of his Lincoln. The show is based off the series by Michael Connelly, and season 4 will be based off the book, The Law of Innocence. Production is schedueled to start in February.
Paramount+ has canceled the Frasier revival after two seasons. CBS Studios -- which produces the Kelsey Grammer-led sitcom -- is reportedly planning to shop the series at other outlets.
The horror fiction series Teacup has been cancelled by Peacock. The show was based off of the novel Stinger by Robert McCammon, and it followed the civillians of a rural Georgia town who become trapped when a man in a gas mask spray paints a blue line around their farm lands and anyone who tries to cross is killed, forcing neighbors to band together. The show unfortunately did not rank in the Nielsen Top 10 streaming charts, which critics speculate led to its cancellation.
