Lady Gaga has been wearing wigs since Day 1 of her career -- rocking hair bows, mermaid manes and canary yellow tresses.
But, during a rare and revealing moment, she finally performed with her natural locks.
The 27-year-old singer removed her ridiculous headpiece during the iTunes Festival in London over the weekend -- after telling fans she went through some "really tough times" in her life.
While playing a collection of new songs, Gaga revealed she used "wigs and make-up" to "cover up the pain."
"When I didn't feel strong enough to be me, I created someone else. And it worked," she added. "So here I am, the human underneath the wigs."
She then pulled of her wig and showed off her short black hair, launching into a performance of one of her new tracks, "Swine."
