"This Is Us" star Chrissy Metz fired back at haters who were attacking the outfit she wore Sunday night to the MTV Movie & TV Awards.
The 36-year-old actress graced the award show stage Sunday in a red latex dress with ruffled trim sleeves, but it seems people where less than happy with her outfit choice.
The actress posted a message on Twitter shortly after saying "For the record, I wear what I want, when I want. News flash it's MY body. #thankstho."

The tweet was met with positive praise from Metz's Twitter followers who commended her for owning her look regardless of what people were saying.
Metz is an advocate for body positivity, calling out comments against not only herself but other famous ladies who get shammed for outfit choices. Back in February, the actress told SiriusXM's "Just Jenny" with Jenny Hutt she went "bonkers, bananas crazy" over hearing people comment on Lady Gaga's outfit at the 2017 Super Bowl.

Metz also penned a letter in People's 2017 World's Most Beautiful Issue to her younger self, detailing why it's not important to let what anyone says get to you.
"We are all on our own journey and YOU are the driver," Metz wrote. "There will be bumps in the road, detours to be taken and pit stops will have to be made, but you've got to fill 'er up and keep going. You will lose your map, but never your intuition."
