Hollywood's biggest names flocked to the 65th Annual Cannes Film Festival last week to promote their new films. But let's face it, the event was all about fabulous fashions and hair.
Granted, women like us don't travel with professional stylists. We have to work with what our mommas gave us and what we can afford. But with the right inspiration and some hairpins, hair ties and a curling iron, you too can make a statement with your hair.
It's no longer about the side-swept bangs, the preppy ponytail or even the sleek straight 'do (sorry Kim Kardashian). Long luscious waves and dramatic buns were the hot hairstyles at Cannes.
High buns, messy buns, sleek buns, low buns, buns with feathers or even braids -- no matter what bun style you opt for you'll be the main fashionista on your block.
We were inspired by Kirsten Dunst's braided updo. The flower headband added just the right amount of whimsy. Delphine Chaneac went a little overboard with feathers around her otherwise trendy style. Check out this tutorial video on how to make your own braided bun.
While buns seem to be all of the rage at the festival, they weren't the only hot hair trend. Some chose to wear their wavy locks pulled to one side while others chose to wear half in front and half in the back. Take note from Eva Longoria, who mastered the one-sided hair wave trend during a L'Oreal event. Kate Upton's soft waves were also a showstopper!
