Sharon Stone is like a fine glass of wine -- she gets better with age!
The actress covers the latest issue of New You magazine (via Daily Mail) where she opens up about maturing as a woman, aging in the spotlight and how she's embracing the process naturally.
The 55-year-old gets candid about how her desires have changed, and explains that she has a better understanding of life now.
"As women, we understand our bodies, and there's a blossoming that occurs with sex," she reveals. "We're hungry for gourmet meals instead of the fast food. We bring to life a more expansive understanding of life, ourselves, and others. We are more generous and assertive."
While many women (especially actresses) fear becoming "middle-aged," Stone sees it as a new chapter, a new beginning!
"It's not like fifty is the new thirty. It's like fifty is the new chapter. We know so much at this age, and people realize we're the ones with experience. We're a very colorful generation that is leading once again," she tells the mag.
Adding, "People are afraid of changing; that they're losing something. They don't understand that they are also gaining something."
One feature Sharon has gained with age -- defined cheekbones (which she loves!). "I thought I lost the deep vortex on my eyelid that you have when you're younger, but I gained almost a kind of beautiful abyss. As I lost the fullness in my face, I got in these great cheekbones," she confesses.
While she hasn't opted for more serious cosmetic surgey, like a facelift, Sharon admits that she has come close.
"Yes, I have come close - but, frankly, I think that in the art of aging well there's this sexuality to having those imperfections. It's sensual," she reveals.
But, just because the blonde beauty hasn't gone under the knife in the name of beauty, she doesn't have a problem with stars who chose to do so.
"If you have things that you want to fix, you should go right ahead and fix them. I don't think there is anything wrong with cosmetic surgery at all. I think it's great. But I don't think it's alright to distort yourself," she says.
It's refreshing to hear that an actress of Stone's stature is embracing the aging process -- instead of going "The Real Housewives" route ... and trying to stop it with countless cosmetic procedures.
