Ladya Gaga's had to work hard for the money and fame!
The "Applause" singer covers the October issue of Elle magazine where she opens up about the struggles she's had breaking into the entertainment industry, and shares her personal insecurities.
Gaga's faced backlash from critics who say the 27-year-old has never dealt with real struggle in her career. To that, the "Poker Face" singer shares some insight into the hardships she's endured on her way to superstardom.
"Do you know how much dirt I ate? Do you know the men I had to crawl through, the people that disrespected my body, my mind, my heart?," she asks.
The singer -- whose real name is Stefani Germanotta -- may seem super confidant on the outside, but she too has to cope with feelings of insecurity.
"I am—Stefani is—a perpetually tortured artist. That's why I changed my name. I can't be her in public. She would be a mess!," Gaga confesses.
Nevertheless, the pop star has become stronger because of her struggles, and the pressure she's faced from the industry and the public.
"What are you talking about, pressure? I'm great under pressure. I'm a warrior. I'm Rocky, round 12," Gaga explains.
At the end of the day, Lady Gaga will always have her "Little Monsters" to get her through the good, the bad and the downright ugly facets of fame.
