We have liftoff!
To celebrate Sports Illustrated's 50th Swimsuit Issue, Kate Upton was part of a pretty incredible photo shoot -- one that required her to experience zero gravity.
According to a press release, the shoot went down back in March of 2013 at the Space Coast Regional Airport in Titusville, Florida.
The sexy supermodel and the Sports Illustrated crew performed a series of 17 parabolas -- including "13 zero gravity and four replicating lunar gravity" on a Boeing-727 known as the G-FORCE ONE.
While there's clearly a lot of science involved here that we won't try to understand, the final product is pretty impressive, with the magazine doing a whole spread of a weightless Kate floating around in a gold bikini.
The video from the shoot is equally amazing. This was definitely a difficult (but totally fun) spread to pull off -- and seeing the entire crew of photographers fly around with her is so cool.
The 50th Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue goes live across the web, mobile, tablet and newsstands today.
