Uma Thurman has one talented glam squad!
The actress was spotted at the season premiere of "The Slap" in Los Angeles on Monday, where she showed off a new, youthful look.
The "Kill Bill" star made headlines the next day, with reports questioning whether she had gone under the knife for a little nip-tuck.
Turns out, the 44-year-old was just rocking a different style of makeup. Thurman's makeup artist, Troy Surrat, spilled all the details about her new look to PEOPLE, where he said that her fresh appearance was simply the effect of a little face paint.
"Frankly, I'm quite surprised by the conversation," Surratt told the site. "By now I would have thought that we were all open to and knowledgeable of the role that makeup plays in the world of fashion and particularly celebrity, as a medium for creative self expression. I think that women should feel open and free to experiment with different beauty looks — it's only makeup, at the end of the day it all washes off."
Troy and Uma wanted to go for a Parisian-chic look for the night -- a style that focuses on lips and skin-tone.
"I wanted to give Uma a statement lip balanced by a more feathered brow," he revealed about the mascara-free technique. "Uma and I discussed creating a look that was more editorial with soft natural lashes. As a makeup artist I've grown a bit tired of all of the lash-y looks and fake eyelashes that we've been seeing on the red carpet for some time now."
And the "Pulp Fiction" star's smooth face was created with the help of some skillfully-applied foundation.
"I applied a glowing foundation using a Beauty Blender for a super natural look. When the makeup was finished we misted her face with Tatcha's Luminous Dewy Skin Mist for added radiance," Surratt added.
