Celebrity stylist Derek Warburton is setting the record straight on who the real diva in the Knowles family is!
toofab's Candice Brock chatted with the TV personality about working with Beyonce, the biggest trends for spring and summer, and his charity How To Be Derek Fabulous.
Derek began his career as a makeup artist in Italy, before eventually moving to Miami to work at a styling firm with clients like Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. It was there he was given the opportunity to work with Queen Bey and her famous family.
"I worked with her on "House of Dereon," he reveals. "[She's] amazing, sweet, I love Tina [Knowles]."
"What's really funny about them that people don't really know, the diva is really the sister [Solange], but as a person ... just like a bigger personality," he adds. "Beyonce is actually very quiet and very soft, until she's Sasha Fierce."
Who would have thought!
Aside from working with the "Drunk In Love" singer, the fashion guru gave us the low-down on which trends he thinks will big for spring/summer 2015.
"Bohemian is huge, all of the '70s. I love what Gucci is doing," he gushes. "Fringe is huge, white, orange, canary, bright blue. Red, white and blue are hot, but separate."
Along with his passion for fashion, Derek is also passionate about a cause that is close to his heart, his charity with New York's Bottomless Closet. He runs the self-esteem workshop because of his own experiences growing up.
"I was a homeless child, and I wanted to do something that helped people like my mother," he says. "It's called How To Be Derek Fabulous, which really means how to love and support yourself."
The charity gives a group of 25 women clothes and makeup help, even giving them the chance to walk in a New York Fashion Week show.
