Star-Lord meets his maker in the new "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" trailer that Jimmy Kimmel premiered on Tuesday night.
Chris Pratt's character's long-lost father was teased at the end of the first blockbuster Marvel movie, and now the studio owned by Disney has given fans their first look at Kurt Russell as Ego.

"I'm your dad, Peter," Ego responds.
The tender moments comes after Drax (Dave Bautista) is heard in the trailer telling his team of alien misfits that they're "family," so we're guessing that's the sequel's major theme.
"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," which also stars Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan and Vin Diesel, hits theaters on May 5.
