KTLA reporter Wendy Burch was just trying to do her job Tuesday afternoon when she and the Hermosa Beach, Calif. man she was interviewing got puked on during a live broadcast.
"Let's just recap," Burch said to the man standing among a crowd gathered for the annual Hermosa Beach Iron Man in celebration of the 4th of July. "So you guys ran a mile on the beach, you paddled a mile on the ocean, and now what are you doing?"
"Chuggin' a six-pack of beer," the man said.

View StoryWhile Burch continued her interview, the two heard a commotion to their right: a bikini-clad woman bent over and puking while a rowdy crowd egged her on.
"It's getting ugly, it's getting ugly," Burch says.
Not even 20 seconds later, she and the Iron Man competitor got mercilessly splattered with an unidentified substance that comes shooting from someone off camera.
The video (above) then cuts back to the studio, and the anchors' faces said it all.

View StoryIn a letter to The Huffington Post, Burch detailed the disgusting incident (and possibly hilarious, depending on your sense of humor).
"The video has now been posted on YouTube dozens of times, under the search title 'reporter vomited on.' It shows the video 'freezing' right as the liquid projectile is heading directly my way. One would assume this was the quick action of a thoughtful technical director who wanted to spare the viewing audience of anything offensive.
Nope.
It was just a technical glitch.
And while the anchors tried to regain their composure and go onto the next story. I assumed I was still live. So, for the better part of the next two minutes, I just kept interviewing drunken people while sudsy substances flew in in the air and landed in my hair.
Let's say, after that, it was a wrap.
I drove home, took a hot shower and a long nap."
