Between that Ted Cruz Twitter porn fiasco and Hollywood ganging up on James Woods for creepin' on 16-year-old Amber Tamblyn back in the day, a great new trailer for James Franco's "The Disaster Artist" may have slipped under your radar.
The movie, which also stars Dave Franco and Seth Rogen, is an adaption of a book of the same name which tells the behind-the-scenes story of the creation of "The Room," widely regarded as one of the worst movies of all time. It's so bad, in fact, that people have been flocking to midnight screenings to witness how bad it is for well over a decade.
James plays real-life "Room" writer-director-star Tommy Wiseau, while his younger brother Dave portrays real-life "Room" co-star Greg Sestero. The first official trailer makes the movie seem like it will be a mix of comedy and drama, and gives people who aren't familiar with the source material a better understanding of the characters.
James Franco Double Teams the Porn Biz in HBO's 'The Deuce'
View StoryJames reenacts the infamous "Oh, hi Mark!" scene from "The Room" and throws a lot of hissy fits as Wiseau, including one in front of mega movie producer Judd Apatow inside a Hollywood restaurant.
Keep an eye out for this gem, which is already getting rave reviews after premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival on Tuesday, when it hits theaters on Dec. 1.
