Thanks to the first trailer for "The New Mutants," we now know what an X-Men movie would look like as a horror film.
The freaky first look dropped on Friday the 13th and it's unlike anything fans of the comic book movies have ever seen before.
Directed by Josh Boone ("The Fault in Our Stars"), the movie stars "Game of Thrones" alum Maisie Williams as Wolfbane, "The Witch's" Anya Taylor-Joy as Magik and Charlie Heaton from "Stranger Things" as Cannonball, a group of mutants who discover their abilities while locked up in some sort of hospital or testing facility.
The trailer is darker than anything in the X-Men cinematic universe so far, something which was Boone's thought process all along.
"We are making a full-fledged horror movie set within the X-Men universe," he previously told EW. "There are no costumes. There are no supervillains. We're trying to do something very, very different."
"The New Mutants" hits theaters April 13, 2018.
