"Gossip Girl" fans are split over Ed Westwick being accused of rape by actress Kristina Cohen.
While some are already condemning him on social media over the allegation, which Westwick denied, others are holding out hope he's innocent or simply waiting for more evidence before taking any kind of position on the matter.

View StoryWestwick's name began trending on Twitter Tuesday, a day after Cohen published her allegation on Facebook. Cohen alleged that Westwick sexually assaulted her and then raped her in his home after she declined an invitation for her and her boyfriend to have sex with him. Westwick responded, also via Facebook, stating that the incident didn't happen, adding, "I do not know this woman."
Other fans of "Gossip Girl," in which Westwick played Chuck Bass, noted that co-star Leighton Meester purportedly unfollowed him on both Facebook and Instagram.
Westwick is just the latest Hollywood star to stand accused of a sexual crime as multiple scandals rock the entertainment industry. Harvey Weinstein, Kevin Spacey, James Toback, and Brett Ratner are among those facing the most serious allegations.
