Anna Kendrick delivered "Tonight Show" viewers two presents Monday night: A lovely rendition of "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" with Darlene Love and a great impression of Kristen Stewart's facial expressions.
Jimmy Fallon joined his guests, along with his house band The Roots, to jam out the holiday classic on classroom instruments. Love famously sang the song on David Letterman's "The Late Show" every year before his retirement in 2015. Looks like she found a new holiday home on a different network.
Kendrick, who is currently promoting "Pitch Perfect 3" seemed overwhelmed with excitement, although using non-musical items as instruments is right up her alley since she used a red solo cup in the franchise's first film during the scene in which her character auditioned for the Barden Bellas.
The classroom instrument segment is a reoccurring scene on "The Tonight Show." In 2012, Fallon invited Mariah Carey to perform her version of "All I want For Christmas Is You" using the same pieces of plastic. Since then the classroom has seen a handful of musical guests such as Ed Sheeran, Fleetwood Mac and Migos.
While talking to Fallon at his desk, he brought up her secret impression of Stewart's mouth.
"I love weird impressions," Fallon told his guest before asking, "Can you do maybe Kristen Stewart explaining what 'Pitch Perfect 3' is about?"
