As long as the world keeps spinning, tweets will continue being mean and Jimmy Kimmel will keep gathering up all his famous friends to read them.
In the latest edition of "Mean Tweets," the Oscars host turned the spotlight back to music, inviting the likes of Common, Green Day, Nick Jonas and Zendaya to share some of your thoughtful critiques.
NFL Stars Read Mean Tweets for Jimmy Kimmel Before the Super Bowl
View StoryAs usual, America proved that one of its chief exports is trolling, if not always with any particular cleverness. Former One Direction band member Niall Horan didn't get anything fun to read because his Twitter user was clearly tired. All the tweet said was, "Niall Horan is ugly. Goodnight everyone." At least Jonas' troll went the extra step of saying he looked like a ferret.
Some other stars getting critiqued on their looks include Alice Cooper compared to "a ball sack with face paint on," Zendaya described as "a whole spaghetti," and Erykah Badu's breasts compared to penises. Her pointed response? "I had three babies."
While most of the celebrities simply read their tweets and looked at the camera, a few others joined Badu in offering some commentary along the way. When reading he was "the Pottery Barn of rappers," Common shot back with, "What the f-ck do you know about rap?"
But nobody clapped back harder than Green Day after reading, "I left more talent in my toilet this morning than Green Day has ever had. Green Day sucks dick." First, Tré Cool shot back by saying, "I'm glad that you're thinking about us when you're taking dumps. We're doing something right."
