Bachelor Nation was put through the wringer with the 5-hour finale of "The Bachelor," which included a three-hour episode on Monday, followed by a 2-hour "After the Final Rose" on Tuesday.
In the two-night event, viewers watched Arie Luyendyk Jr. propose to Becca Kufrin, but that engagement didn't stick. Instead, Arie went back to Lauren Burnham, asked if she'd take him back and then broke it off with Becca ... all on camera. Arie then popped the question to Lauren and she accepted the proposal.

View StoryIt was a messy, messy ending to what was an otherwise pretty boring season of the ABC series and Hollywood was very vocal about how Tuesday's finale played out online. Stars like Ellen DeGeneres, Josh Gad, Justin Long and "The View" co-host Meghan McCain were among the celebrities who helped make #AfterTheFinalRose become the #1 trend on Twitter Tuesday night.
Here's what they had to say about it:
Oh, Becca. Oh, Lauren B. Oh, straight people. #AfterTheFinalRose
@TheEllenShow
Congratulations to all the “losers” who now don't have to spend eternity w that “winner” 😘🍷🥀⏳#AftertheFinalRose
@justinlong
They put Becca through all this hell and then sent her back home in a middle seat?!? #AftertheFinalRose
@MeghanMcCain
What the hell am I watching - Lauren just took him back that quickly? I repeat, what the hell am I watching. #AfterTheFinalRose
@MeghanMcCain
I CANNOT STAND the fact that this guy Ari is from my home state. Way to represent Arizona, bro. #AftertheFinalRose
@MeghanMcCain
SO RUDE!! Arie proposing to Lauren when Becca is backstage!!? #classless #TheBachelor
@TheRealAnnaCamp
Just finished #AfterTheFinalRose and I am now convinced with my limited knowledge of #thebachelor that Arie is the man at the end of “La La Land” that broke up Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone.
@joshgad
🙄🙄🙄 Arie 🤦🏻♀️ #NotIconic #TheBachelor
@WWEPeytonRoyce
Hang on - I'm just catching up Arie picked someone and then dumped her on live TV ? Wow #bachelorabc @BachelorABC
@robertherjavec
I'm gonna state an unpopular opinion. I CAN understand how the timeline & pressure would mess with someone's emotions on #TheBachelor. I am gonna hope against all the red flags that Arie & Lauren make this work. Happy Becca is moving on 🌹
@Chrishell7
Former "Bachelor" and "Bachelorette" stars also chimed in on social media, including one of this season's contestants, Bekah Martinez, who said she just couldn't "wish happiness for Arie right now." Martinez also told Access Hollywood: "I just think that even if they were to stay together for the rest of their lives, I think he would certainly cheat on her without a doubt. I can't speak for Lauren, but I don't think that Arie is capable of having a monogamous, serious relationship … really don't think that he's mature enough to handle a real committed relationship. He's impulsive and he doesn't think through his actions."

I honestly can't wish happiness for Arie right now. It's something i'll need to work towards. I'm still angry on behalf of my friend who I feel was terribly taken advantage of. I can forgive eventually, but I'm just not there yet!
@whats_ur_sign_
If Lauren can forgive Arie for dumping her & getting engaged to someone else then maybe I should have forgave that guy I ghosted after 3 dates because he liked too many girls bikini photos on Instagram #AftertheFinalRose
@amandastantonnn
I CANT. IM SO GROSSED OUT!!!! #thebachelor pic.twitter.com/L6716HMjI4
@ravengates09
Catherine is starting to rage over here after hearing about Arie's phone calls. She's yelling at the TV and I can't calm her down. #thebachelor
@SeanLowe09
That's it for me folks. Listen, I love Arie. Sure, he made some terrible decisions and hurt someone in the process, but he's got a good heart and he's a kind guy. I hope you cut him some slack for bad choices on a TV show. Okay, I'll go back to bad dad jokes now.
@SeanLowe09
I mean really? Did you need to get footage of Becca on her miserable flight home? Airport, maybe. Airplane...why?!
@tristasutter
Then, back at her home looking thru photos?? Just seems unnecessarily torturous. #thebachelor #stillfeelingprotectiveofBecca
Since the start of #TheBachelor, I have been a loyal fan & watched every single episode. I consider these people my (dysfunctional 😜) family, & that includes @ariejr. Arie, I may be especially protective of Becca's broken ❤️, but I do wish u & Lauren a life of happiness & joy.
@tristasutter
It may be an unpopular opinion but I'm supportive of anyone who follows their heart (yes, there are better ways to go about it) but I wish Arie & Lauren the best during this difficult time. Love each other, support each other, choose each other. #AfterTheFinaleRose #TheBachelor
@kristinaschulma
Honestly if you're watching and you don't think anything is wrong with this you have some issues dudeeeee. What arie did is NOT ok.
@laceymmark
I wonder if they're sitting around in the White House right now talking about Arie being the best distraction they've ever been gifted with. #TheBachelor pic.twitter.com/ThUn2rCnOX
@PethDerek
I just hope Arie is giving a ton of love to Lauren for sticking by him during this. Lauren's commitment defines “through thick and thin” #thebachelor
@benhiggi
Alright, I need sleep! Lauren is happy, Arie is happy and Becca is happy. I'm happy. Errbody happy. Good night my tweeter friends...Twitter friends? Twiends? Fritters? This has been fun!
