"Live With Kelly and Ryan"
Kelly Ripa auditioned for "American Idol", and it was clear by Katy Perry's reaction that her success on television does not translate to music.
On Friday's "Live With Kelly and Ryan," Ripa took viewers behind the scenes of her "AI" audition in front of judges Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie and Perry. After Ryan Seacrest prepped the judges to hear his good pal's "voice of an angel," Ripa took the stage -- lyric cue cards and all.

View StoryRipa serenaded the judges with a rendition of Peggy Lee's "Why Don't You Do Right," which Perry struggled to review.
"I just want to say that that was different. It was special," Perry said while trying to let her down gently. "Something we've never heard before. I don't really know how to define it, so I'm just going to leave it at that."
