Last week, in anticipation of the premiere of "Avengers: Infinity War," the assembled superheroes staged a week-long takeover of "Jimmy Kimmel Live," with more than a dozen of them dropping by. And while they were there, Kimmel couldn't resist having them read some love letters from their fans for the latest edition of "Mean Tweets."
As always, "Mean Tweets" is a testament to the fortitude of the public figures who read them and the depravity of the schmucks who take the time to write them. After a decade of superhero dominance at the box office, it was inevitable that there would be a backlash from people who don't understand where all the Hugh Grant romantic comedies went.
9 Burning, Spoiler-Filled 'Avengers: Infinity War' Questions We NEED to Talk About
View StoryAnd like Michelle Wolf didn't do at the White House Correspondents' Dinner, most of the haters went straight to mocking and harassing the actors and actresses for their appearance. We look forward to the media and Donald Trump's supporters rushing to support these poor, rich actors and actresses.
Don Cheadle was compared to a variety of animals, Sebastian Stan a potato, Anthony Mackie a "bug with buck teeth," and Samuel L. Jackson was told he looks like a snapping turtle. At this one, Kimmel's team threw up a shot of said turtle next to Jackson and we kind of have to go with the tweeter.

View StoryElizabeth Olsen was called out for having "weird thumbs," and she totally backed that claim by showing them off, while Chadwick Boseman was mocked for his "whitebread-ass name" and Tom Holland was described as "one of those whities who claps when the plane lands."
Holland had no idea what to say to that one, and most of the Avengers were left somewhat speechless by the bizarre insults they were bombarded with. Our theory is that it was Thanos behind those tweets. He's just trying to rattle them before their next big face-off in "Avengers 4!"
"Avengers: Infinity War" stars almost everyone who's ever been in a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie facing off against Thanos and is in theaters now.
