How Issa Rae Roasted Kanye West Right in Front of Kim Kardashian at CFDA Awards

The event was hosted by "Insecure" star Issa Rae, who couldn't resist taking a jab at the rapper during her opening monologue for the ceremony.

"I'm about as fashionable as Kanye is black. Only when it's convenient," she reportedly joked, adding, "That joke was my choice, just like slavery."

The comment was an obvious dig at West's controversial "TMZ Live" appearance in May, when he said, "When you hear about slavery for 400 years ... for 400 years?! That sounds like a choice."

While it's unclear what Kim thought of the barb thrown her husband's way, Kardashian turned the attention back to herself when she picked up the Influencer Award later in the evening.

"I'm kind of shocked I'm getting a fashion award when I'm naked most of the time," joked Kim.

"It was maybe seven years ago when I had a publicist, and she asked, what were my goals, what were my dreams, and I said I just wanted to be on the cover of a fashion magazine. "And she said, let's (make) some realistic goals because that will never happen," she continued. "And so, of course I sent her my Vogue cover when it came out. An autographed copy. So it's really a trip to me that now I'm here getting an award for fashion when it's something I always loved. Thank you so much for this, it means a lot."
