"Riverdale" stars KJ Apa and Camila Mendes seemed chummier than ever while chatting about Season 3 of the CW series, but their on-screen relationship will might hit a rough patch when the show returns in October.
TooFab caught up with the duo, plus costars Lili Reinhart, Ashleigh Murray, Casey Cott, Madchen Amick, Skeet Ulrich, Mark Consuelos and Marisol Nichols at Comic-Con last weekend, where they spilled just a tiny bit of tea about what's to come.
When we last saw everyone's favorite ginger, Archie Andrews, he was getting hauled off to jail after being framed for murder. So, what does that mean for #Varchie going forward?
"It's definitely going to put Archie and Veronica's relationship to the test," was all Mendes would tease, even prompting Reinhart to exclaim, "That's all you're saying?!"
Apa, however, was slightly more forthcoming. "I think if he does go away for a while, it's definitely going to test his relationship with Veronica, so I think it's gnarly, possibly," he said. "We'll see what happens. Hopefully she doesn't run off with another man ... or girl."
While Archie appears to at least be out on bail in the trailer for the new season, new cast member Penelope Ann Miller's character will be on a mission to get him behind bars. She'll be playing the district attorney prosecuting him for Shadow Lake resident Cassidy's killing.

View StoryArchie's arrest will also cause some tension between the entire Lodge family, as Hiram had a hand in how it all went down. "I think that Hermione being a mom, anything that hurts her daughter, she's gonna be fierce about and the fact that it's her husband wont stop her at all," teased Nichols.
"I think it's going to be complicated for Hiram and Veronica because he just wants her -- he loves her to death -- he wants her to do things his way and he gives her the craziest ultimatums and she's just as stubborn as he is," added Consuelos. "She's obviously not going to acquiesce, so there's going to be a lot of butting heads."
It's not all bad news though, as Cott confirmed that Kevin and Moose "are together" for real when the show returns. "Kevin's out of the woods. He's out and he's dating a guy who needs to come out of the closet," he explained. "That should be fun to watch and see what happens there."

We really hope that last part isn't true. "Riverdale" returns to The CW on Wednesday, October 10.
