Katie Couric Tells Wendy Williams She Once Went on a Blind Date with Cory Booker

Cory Booker's dating life was a hot topic on "Wendy Williams" today, but the conversation took a turn when guest Katie Couric revealed her personal connection to the subject at hand.

Williams and her guest were talking about the presidential hopeful calling Rosario Dawson his "boo," when Couric revealed she has a history with the politician as well.

"I had a blind date with Cory Booker once," she said, shocking the studio audience. "Wow, this just in! We went to a Giants football game."

Wendy, being Wendy, asked if they kissed that night, with Couric saying that they did not. "He was really nice though," she added. "This is a long time ago. He's an incredible person."

Clearly, there's no hurt feelings here though, as Katie went on the praise both Booker and his current girlfriend.

"I really like Cory and I really like Rosario Dawson, I'm happy for them," she told Wendy. "Look how beautiful she is. She's also very politically active, she's spoken out about gender equality, she cares deeply about stopping domestic violence. She's a really cool woman."

Williams also asked whether she thinks Dawson would make a good first lady, if Booker wins the presidency. Her response: "Why not?"

Booker himself also appeared on "Ellen" on Wednesday, where he called Dawson an "incredible human being."

"As our relationship grows, it's difficult, but she is such a deeply soulful person," he said of dating in the public eye. "[She] has taught me a lot of lessons about love already. Sometimes, you show the greatest strength when you make yourself vulnerable. She really has this nurturing spirit that has made me more courageous not just in the love that I project and want to see in our country, but I think in our own personal relationships to love more fearlessly."
