Diesel made the announcement himself with a short video from the set featuring the rapper who teased, "I think this is gonna be the best one."
Following her well-received performance in Jennifer Lopez's "Hustlers," Cardi B appears to have already landed her next movie role and it puts her in the middle of one of film's biggest franchises.
It was Vin Diesel himself who broke the big news, sharing a video to his Instagram featuring the rapper. As Diesel promised that the whole cast had poured everything they had in them into "Fast & Furious 9," Cardi looked absolutely exhausted behind him.

View StoryVin wasn't looking much more chipper on Day 86 of the sequel's shoot as they wrapped production in the UK.
"I'm tired, but I can't wait," Cardi echoed. "I'm not gonna front, I think this is gonna be the best one." While neither of them explicitly says she is in the film, every indication in the video would seem to confirm her involvement in some capacity (and we're not talking music).

Cardi's casting comes one day after the addition of Latin star Ozuna to the cast, with Variety reporting he may be set to join the film's sure-to-be-star-studded soundtrack as well.
Let's be real, though, do we really think they could resist getting Cardi to spit a verse or two on there as well?
Cardi and Ozuna joins "Fast & Furious" mainstays Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges and Jordana Brewster, with Helen Mirren and Charlize Theron back for the ride as well.
John Cena was already announced as joining the film, meaning Diesel and company appear to be ushering in the next generation of daredevil do-gooders into their franchise, much as the Marvel Cinematic Universe is undergoing right now.
Paul Walker's 'Fast and Furious' Family Post Touching Tributes On His Birthday
View StoryAnd like the MCU, the "FF" franchise is showing no signs of slowing down. Each film just seems to get bigger than the previous, raking in more and more cash, while the first spinoff, "Hobbs & Shaw" proved there's room for expansion with a $750 million box office over the summer.
This is the second high-profile acting gig for Cardi, who looks to be following in the footsteps of many other hip-hop stars into a film career as well. For now, her role in the film remains undisclosed, but it would be great for her if it was not a stripper role. She was great in "Hustlers," but considering she was pulling from personal experience, it wasn't a huge stretch for her.
Fans will now be looking for her to show a little range, even though the "Fast & Furious" movies aren't necessarily known for their acting and artistry. Still, Cardi has an opportunity to show what she can do in an action film while continuing the injection of feminine energy and diversity into the franchise's all-star roster of talent.
