Emotional moments with C-3PO and Leia, the growing Resistance, the strange tether between Rey and Kylo Ren and stunning action sequences and locales promise a must-see conclusion!
While there are still two months before fans can decide if "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" is a satisfying finale to the more-than-30-years-in-the-making saga, the marketing department is certainly firing on all cylinders with a powerfully satisfying final trailer.
As tickets have finally gone on sale, Lucasfilm dropped their final teaser as to what will be the culmination of more than three decades of work across nine films, concluding the original saga begun by George Lucas in 1977 that changed the face of film-making forever.
J.J. Abrams Says He's 'Not Screwing Around' With Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker
View StoryIf that sounds epic and grand, it's supposed to, because that's what "Star Wars" at its best is. It is larger than life, filled with spectacle and wonder the likes of which we've never seen before. There's a reason George Lucas had to create his own visual effects studio to truly bring his vision to the big screen.
And that sense of awe and wonder certainly looks to continue after Disney tapped J.J. Abrams to bring the whole thing home after Rian Johnson's controversial eighth installment, "The Last Jedi."
This trailer has absolutely everything a "Star Wars" fan wants to see from cryptic commentary from voices thought dead -- though dead doesn't mean what it does in our world "a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away." Not only do we hear the expected voice of Luke Skywalker, but the Emperor has a cryptic prophecy about our heroes.
"Long have I waited," he says. "But now, you're coming together is your undoing." Well ... he's been wrong before.
Meanwhile, Rey continues her search for who she is and what her place is in this world. And now, with the death of Luke Skywalker in the last film, she's more alone than ever, lamenting, "People keep telling me they know me, but no one does."

The bizarre tether between Kylo Ren and Rey continues, with several confrontations looming. We see one on a stunning water planet with massive waves rocking whatever structure they're on, while another is in a more familiar sci-fi corridor. That one, though, sees them joining forces for a moment.
But perhaps the most jarring moment comes in a quiet moment with C-3PO. A previous trailer had shown the protocol droid with red eyes, and now we get a scene as he says he's "taking one last look, sir, at my friends." It certainly looks like another identity is being downloaded into Threepio's body (but where will his consciousness go?).
Will it be Triple-Zero, a psychotic protocol droid last seen in the pages of the canon "Doctor Aphra" Marvel Comics series that takes place between Episodes IV and V?
Fans only have to wait until "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" hits theaters on December 20 to have all of their questions answered as the saga comes to a close.
