The former "Flipping Out" star is in the midst of a difficult custody battle with his ex over their three-year-old daughter.
Jeff Lewis admitted he has been using alcohol to cope with "stress" recently -- specifically his ongoing custody battle.
During Tuesday's episode of his Sirius XM radio show "Jeff Lewis Live," the Bravo reality star revealed he was a "functioning alcoholic" to his legion of fans.
“I feel like over the last two years, I have been leaning on alcohol,” Lewis, 49, explained. "Last night, I made a commitment to myself that I was gonna go one night without having a drink, and I didn't do that. And now today I'm beating myself up with guilt."
"I feel like especially with everything that's happened over the past 24 months, I am leaning a little bit on alcohol, because it numbs the pain, it helps me with my stress, it helps me relax, and it's become a routine frankly," he admitted.
As Lewis was talking through it, he believed he may just need to take away the temptation.
"I was thinking to myself last night -- because I'm mad at myself that I didn't keep my commitment to myself -- I'm thinking maybe I just need to remove all of the alcohol in my house. I think that would literally probably cut out alcohol consumption by 60 percent, because I drink home alone.”

"I just admitted I was a functioning alcoholic. This is a big show for me," he added.
The admission comes after Lewis has gone through a particularly difficult time in his life as the former "Flipping Out" star split from his partner of 10 years Gage Edward, 34, in February.
Since then there has been a custody battle over their three-year-old daughter Monroe, where Lewis and Edward are currently testing an arrangement that has Monroe transferred between parents every few days, according to People.
Last month, Lewis voiced his concern as the custody agreements began to fall apart.
"I have begged him to try to work this out together, but what happens is, sometimes, in all honesty, I feel like I'm co-parenting my child with a child," Lewis said on his radio show of Edward, adding, "I literally put my face in my hands and thought, 'This guy is going to torture me for the rest of my life. I'm a prisoner.'"
The fight is also taking a huge financial toll on both men, according to Lewis.
"We are in this combined at $80,000. We have nothing in place, nothing. We don't have financial settlement, we have nothing. And we're already at $80,000."
