It's fashion's biggest night -- celebrities hit the red carpet at the 2012 Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art!
Considered by most to be the best red carpet event of the year, the ball celebrates the opening of The Met's annual fashion exhibit -- and the stars definitely dressed to impress.
Justin Timberlake and Tom Brady both sported Tom Ford tuxes for a night out with their ladies -- Jessica Biel and Gisele Bundchen, respectively -- along with some unexpected hair! JT tamed his naturally curly locks into a smooth side-part, while the Patriots QB went with what we can only assume is a fauxhawk. Yes that's right, a fauxhawk.
And did you happen to catch a glimpse of Jessica's reported engagement ring?
For the rest of the ladies, skin was most definitely in! Lea Michele, Camilla Belle and Debra Messing all donned dresses that were cut down to there, while Beyonce, Heidi Klum and Marion Cotillard showed it all off in sheer gowns.
Metallics were another sexy theme of the evening as newlywed Carey Mulligan, Jessica Alba, Cameron Diaz, singer Lana Del Rey and more all donned shimmering gowns.
Model Coco Rocha bucked the ball gown trend and arrived in a yellow pantsuit that was once owned by Elizabeth Taylor, and Brooke Shields hobbled up the famed red carpet stairs with the help of a cane.
Among all of those hits, you know there had to be some misses.
Kirsten Dunst apparently channeled Mrs. Claus, Christina Ricci sported a bow that was bigger than she is, and the typically fashionable Sarah Jessica Parker modeled what appeared to be a housecoat that your grandmother might wear.
