Before disgraced beauty queens Rima Fakih and Carrie Prejean, there was Vanessa Williams.
Vanessa became the first black Miss America back in 1984, but nude photos she took before the pageant surfaced in Penthouse magazine and forced her to resign.
She ended up still having a successful career, becoming a pop singer in the late '80s and early '90s. Her single "Save the Best For Last" reached No. 1 on the charts in 1992 and "The Comfort Zone" album went triple platinum.
She also became an actress, starring on Broadway, film and televisions. Her most famous roles include starring as the devious diva Wilhemina Slater on "Ugly Betty" and Renee Perry on "Desperate Housewives."
Vanessa turns 50 today, and to celebrate, we take a look back where more early '90s musicians are today. Vanessa definitely saved her best for last (or the latest), she looks better than ever!
