The "Dawson's Creek" alum took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a fun photo of her getting on the train at New York City's Penn Station ... in a giant ball gown!
"Heels and a train...nothing better #newyork #pennstation," the mother-of-one posted with the pretty pic.
In the snap, Katie looks ready for for a night on the town wearing a gorgeous strapless red gown, matching red pumps and rocking a wispy updo.
The 36-year-old currently resides in NYC with daughter Suri Cruise, so it's no surprise that the actress knows a thing or two about navigating the busy city ... even when she's donning formal wear.
While Katie likes to keep her personal life private, she did share a sweet snapshot of her rarely-seen daughter with ex-husband Tom Cruise just last month.
"My artist creating with me," the proud mama captioned the adorable photo, where her 9-year-old is crouching over a giant wooden panel and using red spray-paint to draw a hopscotch board.
