Ariel Winter flaunted her surgical scars at the SAG Awards -- and it was no accident.
The "Modern Family" star sported a low-cut, figure hugging black gown to the glitzy red carpet event on Saturday, where she proudly showed off the incision from her recent breast reduction.
While some actresses might shy away from putting a spotlight on their imperfections, the 18-year-old beauty has no problem showing it all off.
"Guys there is a reason I didn't make an effort to cover up my scars," she tweeted on Sunday. "They are part of me and I'm not ashamed of them at all."
"Thank you all so much for the support, kind words, and happy birthdays!" she added.
Winter underwent a breast reduction last year to bring the size of her bust down from a 32F to a 34D. The young actress, who turned 18 last week, recently talked about the emotional stress she felt from having a large chest.
"Being a 5-ft.-tall girl and having extremely large breasts is really ostracizing and excruciatingly painful," she told PEOPLE magazine. "But I didn't really express how I felt about that. I'd just be wearing something anyone else could wear, but I'd read comments saying, 'She dresses inappropriately.'"
While the teen was "hurt" by the bullying, it was the physical pain that ultimately led her to go under the knife. Now happy with her curves, Ariel said she probably won't be getting any more cosmetic surgery in the future.
"I think it will be the only [cosmetic surgery] I'll have done, but I'm extremely happy with the decision I made," she reveals. "It's important to talk about it because there are young girls suffering like I did, but there shouldn't be a stigma about it."
"It was an instant weight lifted off my chest – both literally and figuratively," she added. "There's a confidence you find when you finally feel right in your body."
