Zac Efron ditches singing in the high school hallways for something more serious in his new flick, "Charlie St. Cloud" -- which just released its first trailer.
Efron stars as the title character, and enters some dark territory playing a young man who survives a car accident his younger brother was killed in. (See Zac and Vanessa on the red carpet.)
The flick, which opens July 30, co-stars Kim Basinger and Amanda Crew -- who gets many a steamy kiss from the leading man.
Lucky girl.
