"Thor" thunders its way into theaters this Friday, and the stars came out for the red carpet premiere on Monday night.
Chris Hemsworth looked dapper in a black suit, while wife Elsa Pataky complimented him in a one-shouldered white gown with black hem.

Notably absent from the premiere is female lead Natalie Portman, who is heavily pregnant with her first child.
Also missing are Hemsworth's "Avengers" costars, including Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Mark Ruffalo (The Incredible Hulk), and Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye). You'd think Marvel would want to build buzz around the 2012 film, which just started production. Perhaps the stars didn't want to steal any of Hemsworth thunder!
