Prince William and Kate Middleton will have a long-distance relationship in the new year!
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will have a two-month forced separation from February through March -- while William completes military training in the Falkland Islands.
William is currently a search and rescue helicopter pilot in the Royal Air Force and is working towards achieving the rank of Captain.
"This deployment forms part of a normal squadron crew rotation," the Ministry of Defense says in a statement.
But there is good news for the couple: William will get to celebrate Kate's 30th birthday with her on Jan. 9, just a few weeks before he leaves.
